Reviews pertinent Federal Executive Branch and Department of Defense, laws, standards, directives, instructions, and regulations to recommend changes and iterate on clinical occupational healthcare delivery across the DHA. Actively engages on the DoD Occupational Health Nurse sub-Working Group in collaboration with the DoD Occupational Medicine Working Group • Ensured patient safety by reporting any changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse • Observed and reported changes in patient status to the charge nurse in a timely manner • Monitored patient progress and reported any changes in condition to the supervising nurse. Develops standard procedures, model administrative documents, and informational material for the practice and administration of DHA clinical occupational and environmental health programs. Applies expert judgment in developing methods of problem solving and evaluation. Prepares written reports of observed findings to include conclusions, recommendations, and follow-up plans. Leads, develops, or contributes to epidemiological investigation(s) of occupational and environmental disease, illness, injuries, mishaps, or accidents. • Leads, plans, develops, sustains, coordinates and conducts occupational and environmental health professional developmental training courses, continuing education, and specialty training for DoD occupational and environmental health professionals, technicians, and administrators. • Represents DCPH-A and DHA in DoD-level engagements, inter-agency meetings, research and academia, and other private and public partners involving policy and practice germane to occupational and environmental health. Serves on committees established to review proposed regulations, guidelines and procedures. Provides technical expertise and consultations, prepares and provides lectures or briefings, and advocates for best practices in occupational health nursing, including clinical occupational and environmental healthcare delivery. Supervisory Nurse Occupational Health at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center , Bethesda, Maryland June 2020 — February 2021 Created OSHA COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) checklist for the Inpatient, Outpatient Areas, Facilities and Administration. Additionally, created OSHA (ETS) training for non-clinical areas. Revised the Occupational Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Worker’s Compensation, Bloodborne Pathogen, Tuberculosis, Firefighter and Police Surveillance Programs. Oversee the managers of the Occupational Health metric programs (Firefighter, White House, Inspector General, Police, Hazardous Drugs and Carderock). Implemented the Walter Reed Military Medical Center’s COVID Hotline. Created COVID screening questionnaires for personnel manning the hotline to assess employee with symptoms of COVID for determination of isolation or quarantine. Coordinates the in processing of over 110 interns. Served as a preceptor for nurses tasked for the fit testing of over 4000 staff members.
