About candidate

About you
I am a graduate of BA Criminology who is highly motivated and conscientious. I constantly endeavour to provide my best effort, and I encourage myself to take advantage of opportunities to enhance my skills and obtain further experience in order to improve both my personal and professional development. I am capable of completing a wide range of duties, both independently and as a member of a team, with the aim of achieving success. I am a diligent and ambitious individual who can approach any task I undertake because I am willing to work efficiently under pressure and overcome any obstacles that may arise.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I'm looking for a role where I can continue growing my skills in legal transcription while contributing to meaningful projects. A remote legal transcription role allows me to apply my attention to detail and strong transcription skills in a focused, independent setting. I thrive in remote environments where I can manage my time efficiently and produce accurate, high-quality work, and I am especially interested in roles that involve a variety of legal content, so I can continue expanding my knowledge of different legal fields.
What you are interested in working with us?
I’m interested in working remote legal transcription because it combines my strengths in focus, accuracy, and legal knowledge with the flexibility and efficiency of a remote work environment. I enjoy working independently and find that I’m highly productive when I can manage my own time and minimise distractions. Legal transcription requires precision and confidentiality, and I take pride in maintaining high standards while meeting tight deadlines. Remote work also allows me to take on a steady workflow while maintaining a strong work-life balance, which helps me stay sharp and consistent in my output.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Once, I missed an important deadline because I underestimated the amount of work required to complete the university project. I thought I could handle everything on my own and didn’t anticipate some of the challenges that came up along the way. As a result, I found myself overwhelmed and running out of time. It was a tough and humbling experience, but it taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of realistic planning, setting clear milestones, and recognising when to ask for support. Since then, I’ve made a conscious effort to improve how I manage my time and workload. I break projects into smaller, manageable tasks, set internal deadlines to stay on track, and communicate openly with others.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my keen interest in the various Legal Transcription opportunities listed on the website. With a strong foundation in legal studies, advanced administrative and transcription skills, and current experience with eScribers, I am confident in my ability to provide accurate, efficient, and confidential transcription services that meet your high standards.

As a First-Class Honours graduate in Criminology from the University of Westminster, I have developed a solid understanding of legal systems, terminology, and professional ethics. My academic background is complemented by practical experience, including a placement with the Metropolitan Police at Hendon Police College, where I gained first-hand insights into legal proceedings, community engagement, and forensic practices.

In addition to my educational and law enforcement background, I am currently in the hiring process with eScribers as a Legal Transcriber. This role has already allowed me to demonstrate my ability to accurately transcribe court proceedings and legal hearings using specialised software and formatting standards. Through this experience, I have developed a strong grasp of quality assurance in transcription—proofreading for clarity, resolving audio inconsistencies, and ensuring the legal integrity of documents.

My previous roles, including as a Shop Administrator and Teacher Assistant, have strengthened my skills in communication, time management, record-keeping, and data handling—all critical to maintaining the precision and discretion required in legal transcription. I am proficient with transcription tools and Microsoft Office, and I am quick to adapt to new technologies and workflows.

I take pride in handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism. I am also a collaborative team member who values open communication and meeting tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be thrilled to bring my background and enthusiasm for legal transcription to your team.

Yours sincerely,

Pearl Fernandes.
