About candidate

About you
I am a holistic health coach with a strong passion for health and well-being. I run my own health coaching practice where I support clients 1:1 on their health and wellness, in addition to running workshops. I also have extensive experience implementing well-being projects in workplaces. While I love working 1:1 with clients, my deepest passion is implementing well-being initiatives in workplaces because I find it deeply rewarding to contribute to a culture of well-being that supports people to love their workplace and be happier all-around. I have a background as a mindfulness coach, which strongly supports my ability to create culture change rooted in mindfulness and well-being. I also have an MA in Education which supports my ability to share information, run workshops, and engage staff.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking for a role where I can share my passion for health and well-being for the greater good and create tangible impact on the culture and climate of a company. While I love running my own health coaching practice, I miss the collaboration of being on a team and contributing to something bigger. I love offering workshops and creating engaging content for staff about health and well-being. I am a very creatively-inclined person, and I am looking for a role that offers space for me to innovate and find creative ways to engage staff with their well-being. I am also looking to work at a company that prioritizes well-being.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am very passionate about workplace well-being and feel excited to share this passion with the staff. The idea of working for such a large company with offices in various countries that is prioritizing well-being is very exciting to me. I am energized by the prospect of collaborating with various teams and departments on implementing a well-being strategy. I am very passionate about collaboration and thus having the opportunity to work closely across teams would be very fitting to me.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
My most challenging experience in a previous role was working to implement a well-being initiative with the staff at a school where the work conditions were very grueling and staff was very burnt out. It was challenging because there was such a deep need for well-being initiatives, but the staff had very little time or capacity to participate and prioritize it. There was a very challenging culture to work with that did not prioritize well-being, so I focused my work on small cultural shifts that could help the staff slowly start to feel more care and connection. I also worked closely with the leadership team to work on implementing small policy shifts that would support staff. Although it was challenging that I could not implement everything I had hoped, I ultimately had to meet the client where they were at and implement slowly. I focused on building relationships and creating the conditions for a more mindful workplace culture slowly. After two years of work with this client, the workplace culture had completely transformed and the retention rate for staff had doubled.

I am writing to emphasize my strong interest in the Virtual Workplace Wellness Role. I believe that my deep passion for well-being paired with my extensive training in holistic health and background in implementing workplace wellness programs makes me a strong candidate for the position.

In 2022, I established my own health coaching practice where I support clients to implement nutrition and lifestyle changes and transform their health and wellbeing. I support clients with wide-ranging health interventions, from nutrition guidance, digestion and gut health, exercise guidance, sleep support, nervous system regulation, liver detoxification, blood sugar regulation, hormonal functioning, and mind-body connection. I have a speciality in women’s health, with a certificate in Women’s Hormone Health from the Institute for Menstrual Health, as well as extensive training in endocrine health from various institutions. I am currently completing my final practicum as a Nutritional Therapist from the Nutritional Therapy Association to further support clients with nutritional protocols. I am also currently studying herbalism for women’s health with Aviva Romm’s School of Herbal Medicine. I am constantly seeking out new health and wellness training and reading the latest research in the wellness space. I would be thrilled to have an avenue to share this information for the greater benefit of the well-being of the company.

One of my areas of expertise is supporting clients with nervous system regulation practices to reduce stress. I have a background as a mindfulness coach and have worked on a variety of large-scale well-being initiatives for workplaces in the education system. In my previous role with Mindful Schools, I consulted with leadership in schools around the country to implement cultural shifts that support employee health and well-being. Due to my experience in creating culture change around well-being, I feel I would be well-equipped to support the company with a sustainable culture rooted in well-being, care, and mindfulness. I also led staff mindfulness training and well-being sessions for staff teams, which were mostly remote, so I feel a strong comfort working in a virtual capacity. In this role, I managed a portfolio of 70 client well-being projects, which required me to have a keen eye for detail and strong experience in project management.

I am a trained yoga teacher with 700 hours of training and also have training in holistic healing modalities such as sound healing, breathwork, and Reiki. I have a master’s degree in education with years of experience educating in a variety of contexts. I feel my background in education is a strong asset to the role, as I have developed an ability to break down complex health concepts and studies into digestible information people can apply in their lives. When working with clients, it is always my goal to educate clients to better understand their bodies so that they can feel empowered in their health and actually understand the impact of a particular protocol on their body to increase results and sustainability.

One of the greatest assets I can bring to this role is a deep passion for health and wellness that I am eager to share with others. I am excited by the prospect of being part of a company that cares so much about staff wellbeing. I believe I could offer deep value to the role with my training, expertise, and passion. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Laura Schrier
