About candidate

About you
My name is Erin Goss, I played division 1 college soccer, and majored in psychology. Throughout all of my college career wellbeing was very important to me, and the wellbeing of others is what I developed a passion for. I am in my second year of my masters degree program where I am getting a masters in clinical social work, with a concentration in clinical mental health. Over the past two years I have had two internships in the clinical mental health field, and one internship in the wellbeing and engagement consulting field. I have developed a huge passion for corporate wellness, and it is what I want to dedicate the rest of my career doing. I am driven, creative, talented, and smart. I work well in a team, but also work fast and effectively to get projects done. I am very motivated, especially by health and wellness. By playing division 1 soccer, physical fitness and physical wellbeing has always been a part of my daily life, and by incorporating all of my knowledge in the mental health field, total wellbeing for all is what drives me.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking for a collaborative environment where I will be able to work with people in different departments to fully understand how to make employee wellness the best it can be. I am looking for new challenges that I get to problem solve, and come up with solutions that are both creative and practical. I am looking for a role where I will be surrounded by people who can push me to the next level every day, where I am learning constantly. I want to join a company where they are also passionate about employee wellbeing.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am really interested in this position because it combines many aspects of skills and talents I have acquired, making me confident that I could do this job very well, while also adding new challenges, such as a fully remote work place. I think the new challenges would be exciting, and motivate me to find solutions for workplace wellbeing, and creating challenges and a program that works for everyone. This job is exactly what I am passionate about and searching for, and I think all of my experience, both professionally and personally, makes this position a perfect fit for me.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
The most challenging experience I have had in a past role was a very unsupportive supervisor. I had an internship as a clinical social worker at an elementary school, and I had many ideas around wellness and wellbeing in the school, but my supervisor did not want to implement the ideas. My supervisor had been at the school for over 10 years, so she was very reluctant to change and did not want to do any extra work. When I brought up ideas to other members in the school community people liked them, but I was never allowed to make changes, and that became very frustrating. I had the necessary tools to make wellness changes for both students and teachers, but no support to make the changes.

My name is Erin Goss, and I am writing to you grateful for the opportunity to apply for the

position as Virtual Workplace Wellness Coordinator. Having a job in the corporate wellness industry is exactly what I am looking for in my future career. Having majored in psychology in undergrad, and pursued a masters in clinical mental health, health and wellbeing is at the forefront of what I am passionate about. I played division one soccer, so physical wellbeing has always been a part of my life, and I am motivated to get others to be the best versions of themselves. Virtual Workplace Wellness Coordinator, deeply aligns with my career aspirations and values. I believe my current Wellbeing and engagement background, as well as my social work training, and clinical skills, make me an ideal candidate for your job opening.

Through the course of my Wellbeing and Engagement internship I have taken the lead on creating wellness challenges for thousands of employees both onsite and remote, as well as keeping our wellness calendar updated. I also worked closely to help create the company's wellness calendar for the year. I met with vendors, and worked with various departments on multiple different accounts and clients. I was able to collect data on virtual health fairs, as well as work closely with our human resources department to implement our wellness platform. One of my main responsibilities was to create toolkits surrounding various wellness topics such as breast cancer awareness, diabetes prevention, mental health resources, and more. One of my favorite projects to work on was scheduling remote biometric screenings for our employees. I also met with many vendors, and created benefits for employees. During this year-long internship,  I have been able to grow my ability to assess the needs of employees and clients, strategize wellness initiatives and challenges, work closely with my boss to increase our vendor list, as well as create many health and wellness initiatives. I think having both a background in clinical mental health, as well as physical fitness, has allowed me to integrate both practices into a corporate setting, and allow me to help people become their best healthiest selves. The populations I have worked with have been very diverse, and these experiences have helped me develop my cultural humility, as well as help me develop my clinical skills in an ever changing environment.

I am excited to be placed in a new environment where I will be exposed to new challenges, people, and environments. I am a quick learner, and a hard worker. Thank you for taking the time to review my application, and I look forward to hearing from you.
