Greetings Dear Recruiters,
First and foremost, thank you for this opportunity. Reading the JD, the first thought that came to my mind was about this role's potential impact. I am a lawyer by profession and an academic my passion and I have thoroughly enjoyed working in areas that affect people’s lives on a day-to-day basis. But I now wish to venture into the new and exciting avenue of public policy. I want to contribute to a role beyond the classroom and seep deeper into society.
Throughout my career, I have been engaged in in-depth research on a plethora of public policy issues. These include but are not limited to, caste politics in the judiciary, the legal intersection of law and technology and its impact on people and healthcare reform. Further, owing to my PhD research on ethical and inclusive EdTech policy I am proficient at deploying both qualitative and quantitative research tools such as and building a sound research methodology to achieve the study and analysis goals. Further, presenting these findings in a manner which effectively resonates with a myriad of audiences is my forte. Additionally, owing to my time in CJLS at Jindal Global Law School and my PhD Research, I have learnt the art of working with different stakeholder groups. E.g. my EdTech research has lead me to work with academics, consumers and EdTech companies while devising my National EdTech Policy framework.
I never consider myself to be a know it all and spend time staying updated with the most emergent and current public policy initiatives, be it national or international. By virtue of my professional training and experience, I have honed my communication and writing skills which allow me to draft comprehensive research papers and analysis briefs.
Furthermore, my experience working remotely for the first two years of my career has groomed me to effectively collaborate effectively in a virtual environment and independently manage tasks.
I am forever a student and shall always work hard to grow wherever I am planted.
Sincerely,
Sujata Newton
