About you
My preferred name is Crys. I have two young children with my partner and after many years teaching at Primary Schools in London I have recently moved to Somerset. I am hoping to leave the teaching profession for a position which offers better work-life balance and the ability to work part time from home so that I can better support my family.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking for part time work from home. Within my role as a Primary School teacher, I taught all national curriculum subjects to children aged 4 – 11 years old. Through this role I have become skilled at proof-reading and editing written work. I am also an accurate and efficient typist which has been useful for daily typed communication and regular written reports with colleagues, parents and other stakeholders. Thus I know I would be a good fit for the role.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am interested in working in a role in which I can do well while also working remote, flexible hours that allow for a better work-life balance. I am hard working, efficient and meet the criteria to work as a Transcriptionist for Police reports, Clinic and other similar roles. I am a quick and accurate typist and I am able to maintain confidentiality as I have done throughout my previous career. I also know I am able to work well from home, having taught remotely during the lockdowns that resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic and I have the necessary equipment to do so.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Returning to work five days a week in a London Primary School while my daughter was still a baby was a challenging experience. The lengthy commute and lack of any family support network meant this was a difficult time. This experience has led me to seek a new career in which I can better support my family.

I am excited about the opportunity to apply for this new role as a part time remote Transcriptionist.

I am a self-motivated, hardworking person who is keen to develop and grow. I am an excellent listener, I am patient, and I have strong time management skills.

Following my 2:1 BSc Biomedical Sciences degree and Postgraduate Teacher Training, I worked for many years as a Primary School teacher. Through this role I have become skilled at proof-reading and editing written work. I am also an accurate and efficient typist which was useful for daily typed communication and regular written reports with colleagues, parents and other stakeholders. I am organised and used to multitasking and meeting deadlines. As a teaching professional I also always maintained confidentiality.

I am seeking a part time, remote Transcriptionist role so that I can change to a new career which will allow me to support my young family outside of their school and childcare hours. I have had experience of working remotely from home during lockdowns and have the necessary equipment including a good quality laptop, headset and high-speed internet connection and feel I would be a good fit for the role.
