About candidate
About you
My journey to becoming a certified Clinical psychologist started in 2007. I have a first degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Leadership. I worked in the IT industry for seven years until I realised I could not continue working in an industry that made me unhappy for the rest of my life. I made the hard decision to put aside my degree and my masters and start again from scratch. I enrolled with the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2007. At the time of my enrolment, the economy of Zimbabwe was doing fairly well and I could register for up to five modules every semester. However, in 2008, the economy started going downhill and where I could register for five modules a semester; I could only register for two modules a year. However, I did not give up and eight years later, I graduated with my Honours in Psychology. I then interned for three years at Parirenyatwa Psychiatric hospital. (I have included a write-up of my extensive work experience at the hospital).
Some people are good at math, others at singing others at playing football. I am good at being a psychologist, it is my given talent and I do not struggle when it comes to treating patients. For me treating patients comes naturally.

What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
The most challenging aspect of my past role was managing the diverse needs of clients while maintaining a balanced caseload. Each client presented unique complexities, requiring tailored approaches and significant emotional investment. Additionally, navigating the administrative demands alongside direct client care sometimes felt overwhelming. However, I viewed these challenges as opportunities for growth. I developed better time management and prioritization skills, and I learned to seek supervision and support when needed. This experience ultimately enhanced my resilience and ability to provide effective, compassionate care, reinforcing my commitment to my clients' well-being.
