About candidate

About you
I am currently a 6th and 8th grade math special education teacher. Last year I taught 6th grade social studies and the previous 7 years I taught 4th grade. I am 38 years old, married, with 2 dogs. I have part time jobs during the summer and winter. I have been working since I was 16 and am a loyal, reliable and organized worker.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking to transition out of the education field, I feel that my passion has changed and I would like to find a new career path.
What you are interested in working with us?
The job seems to be a fitting transition for me coming out of education. I believe my qualifications and background makes me a great fit for this position and I am confident that I would bring a strong experience and drive for this role and your company's success.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Teaching middle school is hard due to the students becoming young adults. One of the hardest parts is managing the behavior and engagement. The students behavior can reflect anything from something inside the school environment or outside. Some days the students are eager to learn, and others they may be distracted or disengaged. The biggest thing that has helped me is building strong relationship with the students that seem to struggle more, setting clear daily expectations, and coming up with lessons that connect with their interests. One of my best qualities is that I am flexible and skilled in adapting my approach to meet their needs daily. It’s a challenge, but it is what makes middle school such a dynamic and meaningful place to teach compared to elementary.
