About candidate

About you
I grew up in northern VA, but now live in CO. I have been a nurse for almost 13 years. I feel that I have found my passion. I am an oncology nurse and work in a cancer center. I love this patient population, and feel that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have my MSN in nursing education.

I have a husky, and 2 cats. I love baking, traveling, and staying active. I like to watch or play many sports.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I currently work 3 days a week, and am looking for something else I can do as well. I prefer to do many different things to keep my mind active and learning. I really enjoy educating patients in oncology. I don’t yet have experience educating nurses, but I feel strongly that I could do it since I know I like to help people learn. I’ve always really enjoyed when I have students in the clinical setting and look forward to doing something new.
What you are interested in working with us?
I would love to take advantage of the opportunity that you have to teach other nursing students.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
It has been the most challenging for me when I am new in a role and learning other ways of doing things. I have been a travel nurse, and have moved around a lot to different places. It can be very difficult at first adjusting to new ways of doing things and new people. I feel that it can take 3-6 mos to get comfortable. I also think change is very healthy for us to keep our minds constantly growing.

To Whom it May Concern:

I have a passion for nursing, and believe that it is my calling  I believe that we excel the most when we find something that we love, and where we feel that we can help others.  I had a time in my life where I was very sick; they had a difficult time figuring out what was wrong with me.  I really had to rely on many people to help me.  It was during this time in my life that I decided to go into nursing.  I am grateful to have found my calling.  I hope I can continue this journey and find different ways to do it, whether it be hands on or teaching.  I hope that you will give me the opportunity to educate students at this university and let me grow and learn here as well.  I believe that I can be an asset to your school and student body.

Kindly,

Courtney
