About you
I am registered nurse with 32 years of experience including some employee health work within my clinical nurse educator roles to include employee health fairs, wellness screening events, vaccination clinics, etc. I have extensive experience in care planning, patient education, and utilization of electronic health record systems. I am a board certified nursing professional development specialist which validates my education and skill in adult teaching strategies, learner engagement, and development of patient education literature. My work history includes multiple roles in which self motivation and ability to work with little supervision was expected and in which I excelled. I believe this experience would make me a good fit for a remote employee health role.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am seeking a part time remote position to utilize my education, skills, and experience in a new role. I have experience working remotely writing and/or editing computer based learning modules for physicians, nurses, and patients and have really enjoyed that work. I have found working from home to be an environment conducive to productivity. As such, I would like to continue in a remote role, preferably one in which I would interact with adult clients in a nursing capacity. I enjoy working with adults and building a plan for their treatment or health promotion that takes into consideration their cultural norms as well as personal preferences and goals. I am passionate about education for both healthcare providers and patients as knowledge is the foundation for informed decision making and health management.

I am very interested in your "TeleHealth Nurse for Corporate Wellness Program" position. This role would allow me to use my background and integrate new skill sets to promote the health and wellness of the clients served and fulfill my desire to continue to work remotely. I believe I would be an asset to your corporate wellness team and would love the opportunity to discuss this role with you further.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
In considering this position, my biggest relevant challenge in a previous role was getting team members on board with the original COVID vaccinations during the pandemic. I was in the hospital setting during the pandemic and we were challenged in staffing the units due to both patient census and staff absence for COVID infections. Our hospital beds and morgue were full and staff was concerned, understandably so, about taking a rapidly developed vaccine.

My approach was to share information regarding COVID, relevant statistics related to risk and outcomes, and the vaccinations themselves. Additionally, I shared information regarding the history of vaccination development emphasizing that we have trusted the same scientists to develop other vaccinations that we have taken for years. Lastly, I challenged them to consider the vaccination from a risk versus benefit perspective in light of the morbidity and mortality we were seeing early in the pandemic. Most team members willingly took the vaccination after receiving the information.
