About candidate

About you
Registered nurse of 15 years with Critical Care, ER Triage, Regulatory Compliance, Outpatient and Care Management experience seeking remote nursing employment. I pride myself in my ability to learn quickly, time management, assessment and communication skills. I believe in performing to the best of my ability and remaining flexible and adaptable.
What are you looking for in a new role?
Flexibility, ability to work from home.
What you are interested in working with us?
Interested in remote work.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
I struggled with feeling safe or the feeling of being unable to deliver safe competent care while short staffed in a busy ER setting. I advocated for myself and my coworkers but ultimately I decided to leave that position and moved into a different area of nursing.

I am a registered nurse with fifteen years of experience who is seeking a remote nursing position that will allow me to use my vast skill set from home. I am experienced in emergency room nursing and triage, acute care inpatient nursing,  nursing house supervision, care management of complicated digestive health patients, nursing education program regulation compliance, and outpatient urgent care nursing. I began my nursing career as an Emergency Room nurse, where I must admit, my nursing heart remains. I also worked on the nursing float pool which allowed me the opportunity to grow and develop as a staff nurse on several different inpatient units including medical, surgical, progressive care, skilled nursing, post anesthesia care, and psychiatric units as well as in the nursing house supervisor role. Having gone back to school and entering the workforce as a nurse in my thirties, I have relished opportunities to learn and grow as a nurse. After my time in our local community hospital, I worked as an RN care coordinator for complicated digestive health patients at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. The physician I worked with performed fecal transplants for complicated c-diff patients in addition to caring for other digestive health patients. I helped coordinate their care by following up on lab work, pathology findings, imaging and procedures; communicating with pharmacies regarding medications ordered for the patients, and scheduling procedures for the patients.
In addition to these experiences, I have taught in and been the director of several Board of Nursing regulated nursing, registered medication aide, and nurse aide programs. I have become very familiar with regulations associated with these types of programs and continue to be interested in regulatory influences. I completed a Certified Professional Coder course and gained certification in June of this year, so that I may have a better understanding of reimbursement. I am currently back to direct patient care through my position as an urgent care RN. I enjoy patient interactions and hope to continue to do so in a slightly different manner.
