Challenges Faced:
Logistical Issues: Organizing field visits in remote areas with limited infrastructure posed significant logistical challenges. Ensuring timely transportation, accommodation, and communication for the team required meticulous planning and problem-solving.
Data Collection: Gathering accurate and reliable data in diverse and sometimes difficult conditions was a major hurdle. We had to train local health workers on data collection methods and ensure consistency across different sites.

Subject: Application for the Position of telehealth specialist.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in the position of telehealth specialist. With my extensive background in managing research projects and my passion for public health, I am confident that I would be a valuable addition to your team. After taking a 1.5-year break to raise my newborn baby, I am eager to rejoin the workforce and contribute my skills to your esteemed organization.
I have 4.5 years of experience in research and public health. Before resigning in June 2022, I worked as a Research Officer at Lady Hardinge Medical College, where I managed three international research projects in the Department of Neonatology. Below is a brief description of the projects:
- INDO-NORWEGIAN PROJECT Born in the Twilight of Antibiotics: Implications of Antibiotic Use to the Preterm Infant Respiratory Microbiome and Resistome Development (ICMR and Oslo University, Norway) Duration: September 9, 2020 – June 30, 2022
- WHO/DNDI NEOAMR PROJECT Global Neonatal Sepsis Observational Study (NeoObs): A Prospective Cohort Study of Sepsis in Hospitalized Neonates (ICMR and St. George University, London) Duration: December 1, 2018 – August 31, 2020
- DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY, GOI PROJECT Understanding Disease Biology and Diagnosis of Bacterial Sepsis in Hospitalized Neonates: A Multicentric Study (Department of Biotechnology, MOHFW, GOI) Duration: August 1, 2019 – August 31, 2020
I supervised research staff, including research nurses, data entry operators, senior research fellows, and lab technicians. These studies had both clinical and microbiological components. My responsibilities included project planning, budget management, organizing online monthly data monitoring meetings with international study partners, and submitting quarterly and annual reports to the Indian Council of Medical Research. I also managed the supply chain and procurement process, gaining significant experience in public health and project management during my tenure at Lady Hardinge Medical College.
Before this, I worked as a Scientist B on a project at the School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh. This short-duration project evaluated the health risks associated with the cement industry. I assisted in a systematic review and meta-analysis on the impact of the cement industry on working and neighboring populations and helped devise mitigation strategies to reduce and prevent the effects of cement dust.
I also completed an internship with the National Health Mission, Haryana, in the Child Health Program from January 2018 to June 2018. My responsibilities included monitoring various program activities and analyzing monthly reports. Key duties included supportive supervision of New Born Stabilization Units, monitoring and supervision visits to enhance newborn care programs, and gap analysis of monthly screening and service access reports.
I completed my Post Graduation in Master of Public Health in June 2018 from the School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh. My dissertation focused on "Extreme Temperature Events and Their Relationship with Excess Daily All-Cause Mortality in Chandigarh, India." I have strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi and am proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SPSS, and Epi Info.
I am blessed with leadership qualities and excel in management. I am a dedicated team leader and a hardworking individual. After taking time off to care for my newborn, I am now ready to re-enter the workforce and contribute to the post of telehealth specialist.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Dr. Prachi Chauhan
