About you
Experience includes over 30 years of Pastoral care ministry, with over 15 years of private practice counselling experience in multiple communities and demonstrating competence in many modalities. Experience in training, mentoring, mediating and leading healthy effective teams.
I have served as a Clinical Supervisor of Therapy and Counselling at the Family Centre of Northern Alberta, directing and supervising up to 20 Interns and 2 staff.
In the past, I have worked collaboratively with mental health, addictions professionals, Doctors, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) and Social Services providers to bring a holistic approach to the treatment and success for clients.
Have experience in psychosocial interventions. Knowledge and experience in crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment and management, practice in screening, assessment, treatment planning, delivery and evaluation, and competence in using one or more evidence based psychotherapies with individuals, families, and groups.
Involvement in recovery based care, clients under concurrent disorders, trauma, culturally sensitive practices, and interdisciplinary collaborative care, ability to identify the classification for mental and behavioral disorders and a knowledge of psychotropic medications and their use in treating mental health disorders, including substance use.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I have transited into private practice, where I specialize in Marriage and Family both through a faith based and evidence based approaches. I am not limited to couples, I have experience with working with clients with mental health struggles, depression, anxiety, addictions, BPD, PTSD to name a few. I have had much training and experience that excites me to see people healed and experience freedom.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am looking to expand my private practice and be able to provided experience to a team of Therapist and professionals.
I am looking for online/remote counselling opportunities which you provide, both as a faith based counsellor and a mental health counsellor.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
My role as a clinical supervisor was my dream job, working with interns completing their Masters, but the pace and the practices of the company put me at risk. Being a non-for-profit the paperwork and auditing was a lot.

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor/Supervisor(CCC, CCS) and a professional Member of ACTA in Alberta. I have Strong communication skills, able to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, can build rapport and relationships quickly. I have experience in working independently and in virtual settings.

Over the last 7+ years, I have been working for a non-for-profit and part-time private practice as a counsellor and supervisor. The journey has allowed me to serve individuals, couples and families in diverse and meaningful ways, providing mental health counselling and support. This work has been deeply rewarding, allowing me to help others navigate challenges and find paths towards healing and well-being. Throughout the last four years, I served as a clinical supervisor for Master's students pursuing their degrees in counselling. I have found great satisfaction in mentoring and guiding the next generation of mental health professionals, sharing my experience and knowledge to support their development.

I am transiting into private practice counselling, where I specialize in Marriage and Family, and many other areas which include, but not limited to: PTSD, Trauma-inform care, depression, disorders, etc. I use an integrated approach in therapy including but not limited to: Internal Family systems, CBT, DBT, SBFT, EFT, Somatic reprocessing and brainspotting in helping clients in a trauma informed lens.
