About candidate

About you
My name is Sakshi Dhingra, I’m an expressive art movement based therapist and also an addiction counselor. I have experience of work from Canada, in one of the most profound hospital, Michael Garron, where I helped clients to deal with daily life issues, provide group therapy, individual counselling and provided them with support. I also have experience of taking workshops about art therapy from last 4 years. I am myself taking therapy as I feel in life there are so many challenges that we face and it’s important to understand how we can navigate things through that can benefit us.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking to help individuals where I get a chance to connect with clients, support them through their journey of navigating their challenges and help them learn things in a different way. Also, because I am also working on building my online presence along with that I want to work through helping others.
What you are interested in working with us?
As I have seen that there are multiple opportunities to work with you, I feel I would be able to put use of my knowledge and skills at its best. Adding on, working from home is a better option for me as I am also trying to make my presence on social media.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
I think one of the most challenging experience for me was when a client in support group felt triggered and started talking loudly and shouting, which was or could be triggering for other clients as well. So that was one of the challenging situations for myself, but during that time I tried not to react, tried to give that space to client and also later helped client to remember the rules of group.

Cover latter

To shortly introduce myself, my name is Sakshi Dhingra and I am an expressive art movement based therapist accredited by UNESCO- CID REG.no. 30541 with which I have and I am still gaining a lot of experience in conducting workshops for people of all age groups. I have experience of working as a counsellor in Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto, Canada.

I worked as a Psychology Intern for three months at Manas Hospital which is a de-addiction centre in Punjab, India. Besides completing professional psychological assessments, educating clients on various mental disorders, and monitoring and evaluating clients' progress, I also proactively participated in the development of new treatment plans and maintained confidential documents and records.

I have experience in other volunteer activities, for example, Volunteer at Nanny Angel Network which works for the counselling sessions for children of cancer patients. Moreover, I served as a Community Engagement Head for Girl Up community which is a United Nation’s project. This tremendous experience has helped me to become a good team player and allowed me to develop exceptional leadership and organisational skills as I was responsible for the planning and coordination of multiple society events in India. It would be a great opportunity for me to work with you.

Regards

Sakshi Dhingra
