About candidate

About you
Hi, I'm Kiana!
My passion for fitness and nutrition has been a lifelong journey. I began as an elite gymnast, proudly representing the Canadian National Team in Acrobatic Gymnastics. After retiring from competitive gymnastics, I went on to earn a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and an MSc in Nutritional Science.

My current training now includes CrossFit, HYROX, and Olympic Weightlifting, while working full-time as a self-employed Personal Trainer and Nutritionist in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I love being able to combine my academic background with real-world coaching to help clients feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in their bodies.
What are you looking for in a new role?
In my next role, I’m looking to be part of a forward-thinking, technology proficient team where I can combine my background in fitness and nutritional science with innovative tools that allow for a more personalised, data-driven approach to health. I'm especially drawn to this position because it blends everything I’m passionate about—digital health, evidence-based practice, and helping clients improve their well-being through nutrition.

With my academic background (BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and MSc in Nutritional Science), elite sport experience, and current work as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, I’m excited by the opportunity to contribute to a company that’s revolutionising wellness using wearable tech, biometrics, and AI. I’m eager to keep learning, growing, and helping clients reach their goals in a role that values both innovation and empathy.
What you are interested in working with us?
I'm genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with a company that's at the forefront of digital health and using technology to deliver personalized, data-driven nutrition support. Your mission to transform lives at scale aligns perfectly with my own values—especially your focus on innovation, holistic care, and global accessibility.

With my background in elite sport, degrees in Sport and Exercise Science and Nutritional Science, and my current role as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, I’m passionate about encouraging people to take control of their health through education, movement, and nutrition. The chance to work with a forward-thinking team, collaborate across disciplines, and use cutting-edge tools like wearables, EHRs, and biometrics really excites me.

I also love that you prioritise continuous learning and team connection, which makes this feel like a place where I could grow while making a meaningful difference.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
One of the more challenging aspects of my previous role, particularly as a personal trainer, was addressing misinformation that clients had absorbed from social media. There’s so much conflicting advice out there, and it can be difficult to gently challenge those beliefs without making them feel judged or overwhelmed. I always try to approach those conversations with empathy and curiosity, explaining the science in a way that’s easy to understand. I also encourage clients to be mindful of where they get their information and to rely on credible, evidence-based sources.

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the position of Remote Nutritionist. As a recent MSc Nutritional Science graduate from Northumbria University, I bring a strong academic foundation combined with hands-on experience as a Personal Trainer, Sports Nutritionist, and Strength and Conditioning Coach. My work with a wide range of clients and my background as a former elite athlete uniquely positions me to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals, particularly in a digitally innovative and data-driven environment.

During my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing tailored nutrition advice and fitness programming. As a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist at Anytime Fitness, I’ve guided clients on their wellness journeys by developing personalised meal plans, incorporating evidence-based nutritional strategies, and facilitating regular physical activity to enhance overall health. Additionally, I have expanded my expertise in strength and conditioning as a coach for Newcastle United Women’s Football Club, further refining my ability to adapt and personalise plans for individual needs.

My passion for combining evidence-based nutrition with a personalised approach has led me to specialise in supporting clients transitioning to plant-based diets. I am especially excited about the opportunity to work with your team, as I see tremendous value in leveraging cutting-edge tools like wearable tech, AI-based platforms, and real-time biometric data to create more effective, tailored dietary plans. My goal is to contribute to a digital health platform that transforms lives at scale, helping people optimise their health using modern technology while staying true to my values of sustainability and plant-based living.

I am particularly drawn to this company because of your commitment to innovation and data-driven health solutions. Your focus on making wellness accessible and effective through AI and biometric feedback is a perfect match with my skills and aspirations. I am confident that my unique background in both fitness and nutrition, paired with my passion for continuous learning and technology, would allow me to contribute meaningfully to your team.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss how my skills and experiences can contribute to the continued success of this company.

Sincerely,
Kiana Wilson
