Hello,
My name is Emily Thompson. I am 26 years old and currently attending Chamberlain University's Nursing School to pursue my BSN. I have worked in the medical field for 7 years, with experience across multiple healthcare settings, including nursing and rehabilitation, preoperative and postoperative care, Gastroenterology Clinics, and primary and urgent care Clinics. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing piano, painting, and nature walks. I am currently looking for remote work.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking to use my medical knowledge and experience to explore new opportunities in a new setting. I hope to gain new insight into the transcription process as well as to learn new skills while on the job. I am used to the fast-paced environment of a hospital or medical clinic, so I would like to see how working remotely will be a different challenge.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am interested in remote work because I have recently been unable to work lifting anything heavy due to a surgical procedure.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
The most challenging experience I had in a past role was working in the surgical unit during the beginning of COVID-19. Our hospital was overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, and the ICUs's all full,l so they converted our recovery unit into a small clean ICU. Learning the skill of an ICU nursing assistant and performing the extra duties while our nurses were deployed to COVID units was not an easy task, but nothing ever is for a healthcare worker. I believe however that, despite such a great challenge I am grateful for the experience to help others and gain new skills.
