About candidate

About you
I graduated in May and successfully passed the July 2024 bar exam. I bring valuable experience in civil litigation, including drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and correspondence in both federal and New York State courts. Additionally, I served as an editor for my university’s Labor and Employment Law Journal, where I edited scholarly articles. If you're seeking high-quality, polished, and professional legal drafting, and accurate research, look no further.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I'd like an opportunity that would afford me the opportunity to provide legal research services remotely on a full or part-time basis.
What you are interested in working with us?
I believe my skillset is perfectly suited to the job requirements of the legal researcher role.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
I previously worked as a law clerk in an extremely busy and understaffed civil litigation firm. In that role, working late hours under extreme pressure was a challenge in that it was unsustainable and eventually led to ineffective communication and tension between attorneys.

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Legal Research position, as advertised. I recently graduated from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where I developed a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and analysis. Having passed the July 2024 New York State Bar Exam, I am eager to apply my skills in a challenging and dynamic legal environment.

During my time as a Law Clerk at Lieb at Law, P.C., I drafted legal documents such as memoranda, motions, and pleadings, while conducting in-depth legal research to support complex civil litigation cases. I collaborated with attorneys in strategizing case approaches and ensuring compliance with legal standards, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the legal research process. My externship at Hofstra’s Pro Se Legal Assistance Program further honed my research abilities, as I performed detailed research, analyzed case law, and assisted self-represented litigants in understanding procedural and substantive legal matters.

My background also includes editing scholarly articles for the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal, where I sharpened my attention to detail and my ability to identify key legal principles. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to efficiently conduct legal research, draft clear and concise documents, and work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

I am confident that my academic background, practical experience, and commitment to producing high-quality legal work make me an ideal candidate for this position. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your team and support your legal research initiatives. Thank you for considering my application.
