What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Having completed my DBT therapist qualification and also working in the NHS due to time constrains and waiting lists. Completing my DBT qualification, as well as having a family was difficult but I was able to accomplish this with true dedication and this is why I want to apply for the role as a DBT Therapist.

Dear Sir, Madam, I am looking for a role as a DBT therapist. I have a lot to offer and a lot of valuable mental health experience as well.

My DBT experience has entailed the below :-

Therapy with patients – one to one- full programme. Patients have EUPD, depression, anxiety, some with eating disorders, drug and alcohol issues.

Skills group with patients- online group and face to face- Sessions on 4 modules of skills group, e.g. mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness skills.

Completing triage assessments, suitability assessments, review assessments.

One to one emotional coping skills sessions to patients

Attending consult, writing letters to patients eg exit letters, review, start of therapy.

Completing case Conceptualisations for patients

Working with partner organisations.

Chairing meetings, writing minutes, attending other meetings.

Supporting new trainees.

Managing risk, safeguarding, reporting incidents when required.

Writing clinical notes.

My current role is in mental health and my role entails the below :-

I am currently the emergency lead in A/E, I also shift coordinate.

Supervision of staff, completing assessments, being part of a consult group, offering therapy to patients as needed, dealing with risk, crisis, writing clinical notes.

Participating in multi-agency meetings, chairing meetings, taking a lead role.

Formulating and implementing care plans, providing treatment as necessary.

Using evidence-based practice and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions

Collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.

Maintaining accurate and up to date records in line with professional standards

Taking a leadership role in coordinating care and collaborating with necessary services to put a comprehensive plan in place for patients.

Conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans to ensure that the care follows best practices with relevant guidelines.

I am also a qualified psychotherapist in DBT, social worker, have worked in a vast amount of mental health teams, I am very organised, and I do believe I have the skills for a band 8a role. I also have experience of CAMHS crisis already and other teams, therefore I can bring in the relevant experience where required within mental health. I would be happy to share my CV.
