About candidate

About you
I work as a freelance chemistry content writer with a UK-based company, Medify Ltd. This company specializes in GAMSAT entrance (medical entrance). I am now looking for roles in healthcare to diverge into medical communications.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking to learn and expand my existing skill set. At the moment, I write science e-learning materials and assessment questions in chemistry. I would like to transition into medical communications and looking for entry-level opportunities to understand the basics. I am eager and open to learning as much as I can and making the best out of any entry-level writing opportunities in the medical field.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am excited to work with you because of the following points you mentioned in the job description. These bits drew my attention as they fit my current lifestyle, have the scope for my professional growth, and help me with my career transition.

1. A collaborative and supportive team: Humans learn from each other. A team that supports me with my learning is what I desperately need at the moment. A supportive team that provides honest feedback, appreciates good work and provides opportunities to blend in and stand out as per the situation.

2. Healthcare E-learning Development: This project helps me to understand the nuances of e-learning in healthcare. Being a part of healthcare and medicine is a key motivating factor.

3. Remote work: The flexibility to work from home helps me focus better as a mother of a 7-year-old.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
I see challenges as a bridge to fill the learning gaps.

I wouldn't call it a 'past role' as I am on a freelance contract and currently working with them.
A new editor took over our team who is more aligned with skimming scientific papers and creating question sets out of it rather than conventional higher secondary school chemistry topics. This was a challenge for me because creating question sets from a scientific paper is difficult as compared to summarising it. My brain was forced to think out of the box and I am thankful for it. Honestly, it was a bit uncomfortable in the beginning as I had to invest double the amount of time in reading. However, once I started working and adapting to this new situation, it helped me realize the importance of READING in scientific writing. Reading something that is totally new and creating a question set out of it was a challenge and I am happy to have encountered it.

Subject: Application for Healthcare E-learning Developer

Dear Hiring Manager,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to express my interest in the Healthcare E-learning Developer at Naukri Mitra, as advertised on Google. With a background in science e-learning content writing, I am eager to transition into healthcare communications and explore opportunities where I can apply my passion for science and the skills I’ve acquired in my previous roles.

Currently, I am working as a freelance chemistry writer for Medify Ltd, a UK-based company that specializes in GAMSAT medical entrance preparation. My responsibilities, which are outlined in my resume, have allowed me to hone my ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively. During my tenure at StudySmarter Ltd, I applied my skills to create engaging e-learning articles for learners of GCSE and A-levels in the UK.

I hold a degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, and chemistry. During my studies, I developed strong research and writing skills, which I used to create e-learning materials for both myself and my peers. My focus has always been on presenting scientific concepts in clear and accessible ways, using visuals such as diagrams, graphs, and schematics to enhance understanding and retention. I love communicating science.

In my postgraduate studies in organic chemistry, I further refined these skills by preparing several slide decks for academic presentations.

While living in the UK, I completed an English L2 course (Adult Education, Manchester) to better understand different teaching methods and improve my communication skills. As part of my coursework, I created a presentation for a non-scientific audience about Dr. Frances Kelsey’s role in preventing the Thalidomide tragedy in America. This experience earned me praise from my instructor and peers for presenting science in an engaging and easily understandable manner.

I am particularly excited about this opportunity as I will get to be a part of the collaborative, supportive, and experienced team of healthcare e-learning writers from whom I can learn and expand my skill set.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team and expanding my skills in healthcare e-learning development.

Sincerely,
Archana
