About candidate

About you
Writer and editor currently living in Los Angeles, California and seeking work in the entertainment industry. As a graduate of USC's exclusive Narrative Studies program, I am extremely passionate about analyzing what makes an effective and emotionally impactful piece of art. My primary focus is on screenwriting, but I am also highly familiar with novel writing and game writing, and I've dabbled in other areas of film production such as editing and cinematography. Some of the most common topics in my work include metanarrative, blending the supernatural with the mundane, and understanding humankind's relationship with our own brains and our environment. When I'm not watching movies, I like playing tennis, practicing the guitar, and working on my own screenplays.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am seeking a role in scriptwriting that will allow my to share my passion and storytelling with the rest of the world. I truly believe that every script and idea is made by its execution, and I have been complimented by my professors and coworkers for my ability to bring out that potential and maximize impact. I have the deepest respect for creators and my commitment is always to remaining faithful to their vision while helping that material connect with their audience.
What you are interested in working with us?
I have had friends from both India and the United States rave about Naukri Mitra's assistance in helping connect them with their dream role, and I resonate deeply with their commitment to making stories for today's audience and the freedom to work remotely. The beauty of the internet age is the ability for writers and storytellers to connect across disciplines, and I hope to bring my own unique experience as an American while also learning about the intricacies behind the writing for some of my favorite foreign films, such as India's Dhoom series and Korean dramas like Oldboy and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
My role as a Television News Reporter for mxdwn.com initially presented me with the challenge of maintaining my personal voice in my discussions of industry news while also preserving our commitment to objectivity. My job involves taking articles from other trades such as Deadline and Variety and rewriting them to be more accessible for mxdwn.com's audience while always giving credit to the original publisher. At first, I was intimidated by the prospect of balancing personal voice and objectivity; however, I eventually realized that great entertainment journalists are set apart by their ability to write concise and thorough reporting. In addition to my primary source, I also conduct my research for a given article by looking into other publications, databases, and interviews to gain such a contextual understanding of the issue that I could write a book on it. My hope is that each article I write weaves together sources to create a cohesive and contextualized view of my topic that never deviates from my unwavering commitment to accrediting those who helped me understand these topics.

Thank you for the opportunity to apply with Naukri Mitra!  I was excited to see this position appear on my job search, and after reviewing the responsibilities, I believe I could be a great asset and contributor to the company due to my skills in narrative storytelling, interface design, and my cohesive and detail-oriented approach to scriptwriting.

I am a results-oriented college student (3.9 GPA, BA in Narrative Studies/English with a minor in Screenwriting) currently in my senior year at the University of Southern California. In addition to my coursework, I’ve also gained writing experience as a Staff Writer for the Daily Trojan newspaper, as well as the Editor-in-Chief of Delta Kappa Alpha, a USC-based cinematic fraternity. In both my academic and professional life, I have been recognized as a quick learner, a collaborative team player and an excellent communicator. Film is my first and foremost passion, and since I moved to Los Angeles to get closer of achieving my dream as a screenwriter I have wholly dedicated myself to this pursuit.
