It is with great interest that I submit this letter of application for the position of remote medical transcription consultant that was advertised on your organization's website.
I am a medical doctor by training, with a Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Makerere University. I have over two years of working experience in medical practice. I have worked in medical research, general medical practice and within a surgical unit. While at medical school I worked freelance medical transcription and editing/proofreading jobs for two years.
Prior to that, I worked as a clinical trial monitor and regulatory affairs personnel where I was involved in clinical trial quality control, quality assurance and regulatory affairs over a period of two years both within a clinical trial setting and at a national level after my first degree (Bachelor of Science in Biomedical sciences)
I am a self-starter and fast learner who thrives in independent and team environments, a flexible thinker with ability to quickly identify challenges and prioritize work objectives in busy environments. I have a strong eye for detail and exceptional ability to follow instructions.
If given this opportunity, it will not only be a good learning experience to further my skills and knowledge in medical writing, transcription, editing but also a building block for future opportunities while contributing to good medical documentation practices.
