About candidate

About you
With 30+ years in education, I have the chops for this job. I can bring energy, creativity, critical thinking, and humor.
What are you looking for in a new role?
A role like this would allow me to share what I've learned as a teacher with a new, international audience. I am especially interested in empowering others to succeed in the global workforce.
What you are interested in working with us?
Maybe this should say "why are you interested in working with us?" If this is what you mean, I would say that I am ready for a new work adventure, but only if it allows me to continue playing to my strength, which is teaching. My experience in teaching has taught me that it's always possible to change the way material is presented so that a wide variety of individuals will grasp it. Teaching is fun. Learning can be fun.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Without a doubt, the hardest thing about teaching young college students is that sometimes they aren't ready to apply themselves. To accompany a student through an entire semester only to see them fail in the end is, by far, the hardest thing about my current job. I thought it would get easier, but when all I see is ability and potential, it's hard when things don't work out.

Dear Naukri Mitra Team,

I am happy to apply for a job that I feel should be two part-time jobs (with the salary split in half). Teaching and learning online is exceptionally challenging and, if you have had difficulty with your corporate education work, this may be part of the reason.

I enjoy teaching so much and I can always find something joyful or interesting to share with my students. I have very high standards, which college students sometimes find annoying, but I also have a pretty good heart. I think deep down my students know that I have their best interests in mind.

My work as a writing instructor has shown me that critical thinking, creativity, and metacognition are the Holy Trinity of skills that transcend all facets of life. In these areas what matters most is practice, practice, and more practice, but the payoff is worth it. I also tell my students that "small wins" are the only wins there are. This can be difficult to accept, but if they do, they will have the resilience needed for life-long learning.

Best of luck to you in your search. I know I am a complete longshot, but it was fun to discuss some of the reasons why I love teaching.

All the best from central Texas,

Beth
