About candidate

About you
I have been a behavioral health rn for 2 years and prior to that I was a missionary. Being a missionary helped be more empathetic to the patients I care for. I have also grown up with siblings and cousins who have mental illnesses and substance abuse. I am very passionate about helping people with mental health illness.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am looking for a remote job where I can work during the day. I have been working nights and I want to transition to days however I don’t want to make that transition bedside. My favorite part about being a behavioral health nurse is talking to the patients and I would like to do more of that.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am interested in a remote job where I get to talk to the patients and work during the day instead of overnight. I love that this job has an emphasis on telepsychiatry, and that the support is ongoing. I also enjoy developing treatment plans.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Navigating my schedule when I worked full time in a psych hospital was very challenging. The hospital does block scheduling and it was a constant struggle to try and get the days I needed so I could continue to participate in activities outside of work.

Cover latter

Since nursing school I have trained medical nurses in how to work in an acute mental health setting. I have educated fellow nurses on drug interactions and de-escalating potentially harmful situations for patients and staff. I have cared for upwards of 26 patients as they detox from opioids, alcohol and stimulants.

When I was a missionary I co lead adults with Autism, ADHD and Anxiety to East Timor and Darwin on a missions trip. I attended group therapy with trafficked victims in a safe house in Thailand. I taught refugees in Australia and Thailand how to speak English.

You should hire me because I would be a great addition to the team. Not only do I bring mental health nursing skills and am a fast learn but I also bring a lot of compassion for the patient population I would be interacting with.
