About candidate

About you
I am May Sheila Tado, currently working remotely as Analytics Supervisor for BroadPath Global Solutions. In my current role, my tasks include monthly Profit and Loss analysis, monthly forecast, KPI review, employee incentives processing, managing project information in the database and coach junior analysts.
I graduated in Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering last 2001 and started working as a data analyst in June of 2001. In this field of work, I have developed skills which ultimately helped in creating visualization tools for top management to make data-driven decisions. One important skill is the keenness to detail especially in large data sets. This is through understanding each type of data that needs to be processed. From understanding the data, next is to identify the type of statistical tool to use to present the data. In my experience, there is not just one way to present data. It would depend on how granular we need to see it to make insights and come up with conclusions.
My experience in manufacturing at now Western Digital Philippines had me skilled using SQL, DB2, SAS JMP Analysis Tool and Six Sigma methodology. These skills were essential in the day-to-day operations of the company. Mainly to give management feedback on what went on and if metrics are met.
Here in my current work at a BPO company, I learned PowerQuery, PowerBI, Jira, Confluence, QuickBase, Sharepoint, project forecasting, and annual budgeting.
I may not have completed all the required applications, but I am positive that I can learn them. I am a self-starter, and I always make sure to learn new things and never back down.
I want to tell you more when given the opportunity.
What are you looking for in a new role?
Statistical analytics, dashboards and scorecards, continuous improvement process - these are my skills and expertise. These are what I can bring to the table. I am looking to be able to contribute to furthering the company's goals. At the same time, be able to get hands-on experience on new technologies available on data analytics.
What you are interested in working with us?
I believe in your platform. Location is not relevant to finding employment. Expertise, experience, and skills are the basis of getting hired. Even if I am living miles away, I can be able to contribute to the company.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
In one of the projects that I have handled, one ordeal we had to hurdle was to keep on the scope. In most cases, stakeholders will ask to add more scope than what was originally agreed on. Not controlling this will risk the timeline of the project. With that, on every scope change, it had to be signed off on by all the stakeholders. Made sure they understood what the changes entail. They can either choose to move forward with the original scope to keep the timeline, adding in the new scope later on as an improvement to the earlier version. Stakeholders can also choose to delay the timeline and ensure to work on the additional scope, especially if it is critical. As for the project I handled, stakeholders decided to keep the timeline and adjust with improvements later. Expectations needed to be laid down at the table for each stakeholder to decide on.

Analytics is now playing a pivotal role in every company. Collected data can be modelled into a comprehensive business analytics dashboard to keep every one in the company informed of the current performance. Not only is the data limited to telling how the metrics are faring, it can also be used to predict future performance. A metric might be cyclic, seasonal, line dependent - where one line is better than others, location dependent, dependent to another variable, a whole lot. It just needs deep understanding of the metric and the driving factors on its behavior or pattern.
These are my experiences in my 10+ years working as an analyst. I bring these experiences to the table. I am a self-starter and goal-oriented. Once an idea comes to mind, I don't rest until I carry it out.
Furthermore, I am excellent in communicating at different levels of the organization. My skills mainly are statistical analysis, SQL, DB2, dashboards and scorecards, powerpoint presentations, JIRA, confluence, Six Sigma Greenbelt trained, MS Excel and VBA programming.
