Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in working as an Art Therapist at your organisation. With a comprehensive background in art therapy and a commitment to supporting individuals with complex needs, I am eager to contribute to your team.
My experience working as an art therapist with individuals facing multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses, including Functional Neurological Disorder, Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, has honed my ability to provide compassionate therapeutic interventions. Additionally, I have facilitated group art therapy sessions for individuals diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety, as well as implemented therapeutic art interventions for active seniors in Singapore.Through my professional journey, I've had the privilege of cultivating several valuable skills that have greatly contributed to my effectiveness as an art therapist. My work has provided me with opportunities to develop a deep appreciation for cultural sensitivity, allowing me to create inclusive and respectful spaces for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, I am passionate about developing my ability to communicate effectively through non-verbal cues, which has been instrumental in building trust and meaningful connections. Moreover, my sensitivity towards caregivers has been pivotal in establishing collaborative partnerships that prioritise the well-being of my clients. I tend to find creative solutions to challenges, ensuring that I can adapt and respond effectively to the evolving needs of those I serve.
I have recently qualified with a Master's in Art - Art Therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, and will obtain professional licensure from the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
I am particularly drawn to the concept of providing holistic care where there is a steadfast commitment to nurturing a complete space that supports clients to feel seen and heard. This approach resonates deeply with my own values and aspirations as an art therapist, and I am eager to be part of such an enriching community.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my application. I am excited about the opportunity to further discuss how my background, skills, and passion for art therapy align with the values of your organisation.
Warm regards,
Khushi Barjatya
