About candidate

About you
I have previous and current work experience in the social service field and criminal justice sector. I have worked with individuals considering to be at risk including but not limited to "chronically homeless, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health diagnosis, dual diagnosis." I have previous experience in the criminal justice/law enforcement sector where I've worked as a parole officer and also a correctional counselor where I assessed incarcerated individuals to formulate supervision plan that was in alignment to reduce recidivism. I am currently employed as a Career Transition Specialist where I assist young adults who have graduated the Job Corps Program secure employment within their trade of certification. I enjoy helping others to help themselves.
What are you looking for in a new role?
To learn new things. To be associated with a company that is evolving and changing. A company where there is room for growth and advancement. I also enjoy changing and evolving so I am appreciative in a company that is invested in me just as much as I am invested in the company and the population it provides services to.
What you are interested in working with us?
After reading the job description provided, I strongly believe that I can be an asset to your company. I am currently working in the sector as a remote worker. I am a self-starter and motivated to get the job done.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
Working with young adults who have never experienced the workforce can be a challenge as they tend to see workplace structure as overbearing dictatorship. Having to counsel the young adults we provide service to about the importance of being self-sufficient can be challenging. Also, having them to take some initiative in securing employment and following through with expectations is an obstacles. But obstacles are just barriers that open the door for alternate opportunities to achieve a goal.
